Your iPhone model and iOS version, the Method64 version from Settings, and what you expected to happen instead of what did. If it involves a reminder, the time you set and the time it arrived (or didn't) is the single most useful detail.
Common questions
My reminder didn't arrive
Work through these in order. The first two account for most cases:
- Notification permission. iOS asks once. If it was declined, Method64 can't schedule anything. Check Settings → Notifications → Method64 and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
- A Focus mode (Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work) will hold the notification silently until the Focus ends. Add Method64 to that Focus's allowed apps if you want its reminders through.
- The action needs a label. A reminder on an action with no name has nothing to announce, so it isn't scheduled. Give the action a label and set the reminder again.
- Reminders are part of the one-time unlock. On the free tier they're visible but not scheduled.
I'm moving to a new iPhone
Two ways, and either works:
- If you transfer or restore from an iCloud or computer backup of your old phone, Method64's data comes across with it: nothing else to do.
- Otherwise use Settings → Export backup on the old phone, send the file to yourself however you like, then Settings → Restore on the new one. Export and restore are free forever, on any tier: it's your data and the only copy you control.
Where is my data, and what happens if I delete the app?
It lives in a single file inside Method64's own folder on your device. Nothing is on a server: there's no account to log back into. Deleting the app deletes your charts with it, permanently. Export a backup first if there's any chance you'll want them again.
I missed a day, did I lose my progress?
No, and this is deliberate. Method64 has no streak to break. A repeat action tallies at your own pace and nothing resets because a day went by. Undoing a stamp costs you nothing either; it simply removes that day's record.
What's actually inside a template someone sent me?
Only the design of a chart: its goal, the 8 pillar names, and the 64 action labels. Never their stamps, tallies, history, reflections, tags or reminder times. Importing one creates a brand-new chart of your own: it can't overwrite anything you already have.
Does the focus timer keep running if I leave the app?
Yes. It survives moving around the app, switching to another app, locking the phone, and even force-quitting Method64: the session is anchored to a real end time rather than a ticking counter, so it can't drift or lose seconds in the background.
What's the difference between free and the unlock?
Free gives you one complete chart, forever, with every feature working on it: all 16 templates, tallies, This Week, tags, reflections, the focus timer, and the current month of History. The one-time $9.99 purchase (not a subscription) adds unlimited charts, full History, reminders, and saving, sharing and importing your own templates. Backup and restore are never gated.
